Basic Attention Token (BAT) was launched in 2017 by the team behind the Brave browser, co-founded by Brendan Eich, the creator of JavaScript and co-founder of Mozilla. The project gained significant attention after raising approximately $35 million in its ICO in around 30 seconds.
